Sad to see the promoter pulled out of the Montreal event. It was a good venue for both turnout and competition.

I'm a little torn about them going to Mid-Ohio. It's a great track with a lot of open-wheel heritage, but it's really narrow and I'm concerned the racing there won't be very good. If they're hell-bent on adding a road course, I think Portland would've been a wiser choice. A better track in a completely untapped market.

I'd like to see a Cup race at VIR. They already practice there, it's close to the shops, lots of Road race fans in VA and NC.
Dump one of those NH races and make a Chase race out of VIR where the weather is nicer than NH in the fall.

They're gonna announce soon the truck series will be racing the dirt at Eldora.

It'd be a good track for the Nationwide series too.

A better track for the Nationwide would be Rockingham.

I've work at Mid Ohio many times over the years with Indycar. Doesn't seem like a very NASCAR friendly track given how narrow it is. Setting up Montreal for TV coverage is an engineering feat in itself however.

Exactly why youll never see a nascar race there.. if they raced there they would nt be able to test there. Its too close and too good of a testing ground for a stick car relative to so many other tracks race at now and may race in the future.. mid o is very narrow.. exactly why they aee goin there.

Didn't they change that testing rule again for next season? Even if the rules stayed the same they could always test at CMP like some teams do know.

CMP is a POS compared to VIR.Especially for the data teams are gathering during testing. VIR has elements of BOTH Infineon and the Glen so it couldnt be much more perfect. Theyd HATE to lose it as a testing track. I know nothing of any testing rules changes though.
