Don't forget Kevin Harvick being the first chip to fall announcing his jump to Stewart-Haas and Ryan Newman likely leaving that team for Harvick.
Who would hire JPM, he hasn't done that much besides the road courses?
As for Vickers, I am happy for him. He has been solid on the races he has done for MWR even before his New England win.
I don't see any top teams taking a flier on Montoya. If he wants to stay in NASCAR he's gonna have to accept a ride with a 3rd tier team. I suspect even at his age there may be some interest from within the IndyCar ranks.
I sincerely hope EGR doesn't put Kyle Larson in the car next year. The kid's got a ton of talent but he's super raw and not ready for the Sprint Cup stage.
If Chip's thinking of trying the IndyCar to NASCAR experiment again, I'd like to see Charlie Kimball come over. He's got a built-in sponsor, an IndyCar Series win, and a backstory that makes it easy to root for him.

But with Larson you have the raw talent like you did with Joey Lagano. EGR is a smaller team compared to JGR where Joey got his start so Larson's expectations wont be as high. Perhaps EGR is a good fit for Larson. He has come from sprint cars and is pretty damn talented on dirt and pavement.
I wouldn't be surprised if Montoya goes to F1, Indy or even the new Grand Am/Le Mans series. He can race on road courses in a closed wheels or open-wheels vehicles. He just cannot do much in stock cars on ovals (which is most of the season.)
With Hendrick Power, this would be Kurt's best chance of winning another championship. The 42 car would have been the next best choice, but SHR is a better overall team. The only question is if Kurt can get along with Harvick. I'm sure Tony wouldn't have offered if he couldn't also get along with (or manage) Kurt.
They ought to be renamed "Stewart Hothead Racing".
Then there's Danica.
