Every year The Atlantic has spectacular pictures from the Dakar Rally. 5600 grueling miles, from sea level to 16000 feet, about half either cross country or on primitive, undeveloped roads. (Shortest drive from L.A. to NYC is 2800 miles: https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/20...-rally/550814/

My candidate for the best female competing in motorsports, Laia Sanz, is shown in picture #10. She will probably finish just outside the top 10 in the motorcycle class (the most demanding by far) out of 139 entries. An incredible achievement and a demonstration of great riding skill since she doesn't have the physical strength of the male competitors. Started riding when she was 4 and competing when she was 6.
