Thumbs up to Reutimann, if Kyle doesn't want to be turned then it's simple.......don't do it to other drivers. Kryle has had problems with Brad, Jennifer Jo, Jeff Burton recently. Anyone who has watched Kyle run in all 3 series over the years knows he does it on a continual basis.

Yeah, thumbs up for taking himself out. Root-a-man had a shot at this.

The Consolation Prize
In order to encourage drivers who missed The Chase NASCAR awards a one million dollar bonus to the driver that finishes thirteenth in the points. That driver also gets invited to the end of year banquet to accept his prize.

After Dover, Reutimann was only 173 points behind Ryan Newman for 13th (remember there is a big bonus for being the highest finishing non-Chase driver). A few good runs along with some trouble for the 39, and Reutimann could have been right there. Now, following the dustup at Kansas, Reutimann is 253 points out, and has basically eliminted himself from that bonus money. I hope the payback was worth the million dollars that he may have thrown away in the process.

I can see your point, but a million to those guys is pocket change. Ever watch the show "Cribs" on CMT when they visited NASCAR drivers' homes. They have over a million dollars tied up in their car collections alone. That's not including the Mansion, the 50+ acres, the garage to house their car collections, etc.

Oddly enough they did a segment on Kyle Busch's house and he lives rather modestly for the kind of money he makes.

Don't know if anyone is aware of the financial problems between Kyle and the contractors that built his truck shop. Really sad how Kyle treated a lot of hard working honest men trying to make a living. I guess he kept changing his mind regarding what he wanted done with the building of the shop and of course changes cost more money but supposedly Kyle didn't see it that way and refused to pay when it was completed. In court the contractors ended up getting some money but nothing near what they had earned or had to put out for materials. No, this has nothing to do with how Kyle can drive--we all know he can drive and he is good---but this is just one more example of what "kind" of person Kyle is.

Why do you conclude that 173 points is close?

Drivers in the chase are considered out of it if more than 100 points back.
