Its really not close, Mercedes Benz is completely superior to Cadillac. Benz has a much more storied history, has much more of a racing history and is one of the most aspirational brands in the world.
Cadillac has good history but has struggled on and off for years where today their "face" is a near rebadged Yukon/Tahoe in the rapper loving Escalade.
The CTS-V is sensational, no doubt and a tremendous bargain. AMG has a COMPLETE lineup. Cadillac's V line has mostly failed, the STS-V is gone and the XLR-V is gone. Hell the XLR is gone. Caddy has a very limited lineup, CTS, DTS and SRX, Escalade with the XTS, ATS coming.
Its not even a comparison. Benz has everything from the A-class to the SLS gullwing. Benz has multiple coupes, SUVs, and the S-class is one of the best luxury cars around. Caddy can't compete or doesn't even have anything to compete with most of Benz's lineup.
Then AMG has C, E, S, CL, ML, SLS, etc etc...the AMG lineup is vast, its not just one car like Cadillac.
The gap widens even more if we mention overseas. Cadillac is the worst selling luxury brand in Europe. They struggle in China.
This is not to crap on Caddy, they make nice cars, they are improving. However to even try to say they are on par with Mercedes is simply a huge joke.
