sports cars are emotional items, as such buy the one that you like best.
There are plenty of vehicles out there, so narrowing it down may be difficult, but unless you go out and drive them you may never know if you like them or not. How pratical does the vehicle need to be? How many seats do you need to have? etc...
At your price point people could offer up everything from a Miata to a Corvette, and they'll all be "nice" when it comes to performance and handling over a Jeep Liberty...but they may not suit your needs.
The Genesis coupe is nice, if you don't want turbo upgrades, the six cylinder has plenty of power in factory form...even if it's a little nose heavy.
I also like:
Chevy Corvette
Chevy Camaro
Pontiac GTO (newest one would be 06 though)
Pontiac G8 (Newest one would be 09 i think)
Saturn Sky Redline (Newest one would be around 09 also)
Nissan 350/370Z
BMW Z4
Porsche Boxster S
Porsche 911 (Probably used at your pricepoint)
Porsche Cayman
Audi TT (newest version...in coupe please)
I'm sure there are numerous others, but this is just my short list.
I have recently been looking for a upgrade, I currently drive a Jeep Patriot, now I am looking for a nicer car;
My price range is $30,000-$60,000
It needs to be "nice"
Must be a car
Needs good handling
Needs good grip
If you have any Ideas please tell me, thanks
I assume you mean SPORTS car . Having had a few of them over the years, I can say that you should look at new Corvette with LS3 motor . I bought my 2006 brand new back in 2006 and paid just $39,900 plus tax. It had the most basic interior package which was more than enough for me , 6 speed manual , and even got 28.5 mpg on the highway going 75 mph with the a/c on ! The handling and performance is exceptional . It is a very good value for the money , plus you can get into a local Corvette Club and have a great deal of fun meeting other people and using car shows for charity. Not to mention the American Iconic status of the car. Id venture to guess you could buy a new 2012 LS3 Corvette with basic interior package for about $50,000 . Test drive one . http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-d...inventory-118/
I've had a half dozen or so sports cars and driven many more... if I was buying today in that price range I would be looking for a Porsche Boxster S. Good power, excellent handling and balance, and the top comes off (I won't buy unless it is a roadster). My current roadster is an S2000 but a slightly used Boxster S is where my budget will take me next.
