We all hear all this chatter about fuel prices but not one word about what folks will do if there is no fuel to buy. Ever thought about that?????

For sure the military will have fuel but it's entirely possible for everyone else to be put in a situation where they can't buy fuel at any price.

What will you do if you can't find fuel to buy???????

As long as we don't export to china.

As far as the doomsday that pipes thinks will happen... I find it hard to believe. At least for the mean time. 20 or 30 years down the road? Maybe. But I am guessing new technologies will replace gas. Much ado about nothing.

We have a lot of oil and natural gas in Alaska, too. But we aren't allow to drill it.

It won't be my problem. By the time we "run out of fuel", I assume you mean gasoline not just fuel, I'll be long dead. By the time that happens we'll likely have hydrogen stations to refuel hydrogen powered cars and trucks, and/or have stations in most homes that can extract hydrogen from tap water.

Maybe by then there will have been some breakthroughs in battery technology, both in recharge time and runtime duration, but I doubt they'll make big enough strides to become mainstream.

If there were magically no gasoline or diesel available tomorrow I would telecommute to work and borrow a neighbors horse for the occasional trip to town until I could arrange to buy my own. Maybe two horses and a wagon.

Actually, we are going to run out of water before we run out of fuel.

INteresting they are now talking about electricity shortages in the US. New regulataions are forcing them to close coal plants. Nuclear is not allowed. Wind is not practical for the amount of power we need. Sorry America, no more electricity for you. Maybe Mexico and Canada will sell us some. Perhaps the Chinese will figure out a way to send cheaply produced electricity to us.

By the time there is no petroleum-based fuel to buy, the civilization has ended. I'd be either dead or I couldn't worry about the lack of petroleum-based fuel.
