My first was a 66 Dodge Dart 273 that I put a 340 four speed in. Had solid cam , headers , gears and with slicks ran a best of 11.94 @ 113. I rolled it 6 times in 1982 at capitol raceway in Md. Now I own a 63 Plymouth Sport Fury Max Wedge clone. Ron

My first and favorite was a '54 Chevy, but it wasn't a "hot rod".

Closest to a "hot rod" was my second car, a 56 Chevy 2-door HT -- "metalic army green" with 283, tri-carbs, 3/4 race cam.

I had a 1968 Firebird convertible. 4 speed manual transmission, V8 400.

I loved that car. My ex-husband sold it or I would still have it.

When I think of Hot Rod i think of 1949 and older hot rods, which is the accepted definition, not the newer stuff. I've built those hot rods, but Iv'e never owned one. I've had newer moddified cars, like my V8 RX7, numerous drag cars (like my 429 SCJ Torino GT, and 460 powered Fox Mustang)

Mine was a true hot rod, a '27 T-bucket with a 427 engine and 4 on the floor.

69 Camaro with 327 was my high school car, bought as a 10 year old vehicle for $1650 with only 50k miles. That was a reasonable price back then!

Then got a 70 Nova SS 1/8 mile drag car that was "sorta street legal". It got 4mpg on 110 octane AVGAS but was a hoot to drive around town.
