I already have a deal with my sister that I can buy him his first vehicle when he turns 16 and gets his license
I'm in the process right now of buying a '95 Camaro for my nephew. It's only a V6, but it's a 5 speed and I can't wait to teach him how to drive it. I have no kids of my own so I might as well spoil my sisters.

Thats a lot of car (yes even the v6)for an inexperienced driver, Fiberglass does not hold up too well in accident either. I lost my best friend in HS in that exact car.
The best car I ever owned was an Integra GSR, if it would not have gotten stolen, I would still be driving it
And therein lies the problem... Integras are one of the cars of choice of the current crop of young car enthusiasts - the are pretty capable as far as FWD vehicles go. Most of the go fast parts in them will bolt into other Hondas with relative ease. Consequently, they are always getting stolen...

Thats exactly what happned. It got stolen about 7 years ago, about 4 years ago, I got a call from SAPD and they said they had found my motor in some gang banger's(that got killed)civic and wanted to know if I wanted it back.
Uncle Speedy, I hate to tell ya this, but every grown man who was into cars as a child did dream of owning a sports car or muscle car, just like your nephew. But most of them ended up buying minivans or boring grocery-getters like Hondas.
Just because he's into Ferraris and Mustangs now doesn't mean a whole lot. My good friend was into Vettes when he was a teen. He drives a Prius now. When your nephew grows up and faces real life challenges, his priorities will likely change.
All we can do for the young generation of car enthusiasts is encourage them to nurse their dreams into a reality. Yes, men do grow up and take different directions in their lives...but we all should at least attempt to live out a dream we have had in our younger years.

Like XLR said, the most I can do is encourage him to aspire to own something fun, sporty, etc and hope he never settles for anything less. I'd be sorely disappointed if he bought a Honda or Toyota when he gets older.
I'm going to keep planting ideas into his head while he's young and impressionable. It makes me one proud uncle when he says he wants his first vehicle to be a 'Vette just like mine. It's probably not the best idea for a first vehicle but when it comes to my nephews and nieces, I really have a hard time saying "no"...guess I better start saving up now!
