What will the car be used for? Is it your run-of-the-mill car or have you done any performance upgrades to it? How loud or quiet you want it to be? How long do you want the muffler to last?
Ask yourself these questions and then post back and someone can give you a better answer.
Basically, you have two choices - and this regardless of name brand.
You've got your el cheapo "install it and sell the car" kind of muffler, and you've got a real muffler that will carry a (sometimes) lifetime warranty. Buy whichever one you want, based on how much you want to spend, and how long you want the muffler to last.
This thread made me realize, I have not had to replace a muffler in 30 or more years. They must have gotten better. Back in the early 1980s, I was replacing them regualrly (partially because my Camaro had glass packs, but other cars also needed them).
