I just wrecked my 07 Nissan Sentra 2.0S that I intended to keep until it fell into pieces, but mother nature (black ice, specifically) had other plans.
2008 Ford Fusion, 7400 miles. I sold a Honda Element with 60,000 miles on it to come up with a down payment on a house only to have financing fall through.. stupid.
I was actually shopping around for a ZX2 stick shift until I settled on a 4-door for necessity's sake.
I had a Mazda Protege that, save for the dog of an engine (unfortunately it didn't have the 1.8 DOHC), I absolutely loved. It was the best-handling car I've ever owned except for my Porsche. I've owned an Audi, a Saab (still own it), a WRX, a Mustang GT, a Dodge Daytona Shelby... the Protege would run circles around all of 'em on a handling course. I used to whip the snot out of theoretically better-equipped cars when I took it racing on snow and dirt/gravel -- one left-foot tap on the brake pedal and the back end would hang out all day through a sweeper while I just mashed on the gas pedal. No entry-level sub-compact FWD car on 13" all-season tires has any business handling the way that car did. And the ZX2 was basically a smaller, lighter, more nimble version of the Protege. If you have an S/T version, that's even sweeter.
What I found out during my brief flirtation with shopping for a ZX2 is that, inexplicably, some 80% of 'em are automatics. Seriously, what the hell's the point?
LOL, a huge list of Fords and one Chevy, with a logical explanation for the latter (aka, "it wasn't my decision.").
Well with the exception of pick ups I've always thought GM made better cars. Had two 70's era Grand Prix's, an '84 Cavalier (went 300K with no work except brakes, exhausts and a water pump), a '78 Impala and an '02 Cavalier that was totaled (hence the Focus). Also have had an '89 Plymouth K-car (soured me on Chrysler) and a '95 and a '98 Taurus sedan (it got totaled, too). The wagons came about because we needed one to haul kids and Ford was the only one making them by then. Turns out they've been good cars. Wife also had a '74 Mustang that wouldn't start when it was below 40 degrees outside.
