This thread is a tribute to my personal favorite type of car. The sport sedan. Post photos and wax lyrical about your favorites. I will start with mine. I lived in France for a while and while the car I drove then was a BMW as it was cheaper than this car (insurance turned out to make the car more expensive). It's one of my few regrets in life which is not buying this car. Maybe I'll bring it one day to the USA.
BMW has pretty much locked their place in the sports sedan category for all time. After all, when you think of a sports sedan, it's a BMW that usually comes to mind first, everything else is secondary.
I will however, give a shout out to the Holden Monaro, the car GM was too chicken**** to make here in America, until the Aussies proved it was a viable performance car.
Only two more years before we can begin importing the Lotus Carleton/Omega, the family-hauling Motorway Missile that thoroughly shocked and outraged the British establishment. Not that I'd be able to afford the upkeep on one, but if I come into a lot of extra cash, that's my first "toy car" acquisition.

I'm already on the list for that one. I know an owner of the Omega and Carlton and he has given me the opportunity to purchase the Omega next year if I intend to import it. You can import some of them in 2014 as they started production in 1989. I would own one already and just let it sit in storage but I couldn't afford it at the time when I was living in Europe. You can also import it now under Show and Display but there really is no point to doing that when you can only drive it 5000 miles a year when it will lose 90% of the hassles in a year or so. I'll have an Omega and Safrane Biturbo in the next 6-8 years.
No Japanese cars? This is what I tooled around in during my internship in Japan. I had a choice of a free company car (Nissan Bluebird Sylphy boring....) or buy my own car and get a gas stipend. So I bought one of these from an American servicemen. Got it for cheaper than expected but he was leaving Japan the next week.
I sold it to another American servicemen when I was leaving. Not this particular one. Mine's (not intended) was black with white writing on it.
Also wish it were practical to add a manual-tranny Volvo S60R to my driveway. In fact my inability to find one with a manual and low mileage at a reasonable price within reasonable striking distance of Chicago is how I settled on a Speed6 as a consolation prize. That and the fear of Volvo maintenance costs.
