As has been noted, the issue with motor mounts is the stiffness. OEM mounts tend to isolate engine vibrations from the chassis. I don't think any after-market mounts will be softer, so what you get can be about the same as OEM or they will be harder and stiffer to various degrees.

I tried a stiffer motor mount once, and it was horrible -- the engine vibrations just shook the entire car. I went back to the shop two days later and had it replaced with one that was OEM or very much like it.

Yes, most aftermarket stuff, is installed correctly, usually works just fine.

Regarding the decision to replace 2, or 4... I'd just replace the 2 that are shot. They're not like some parts, where you have to replace one to get to the other.
That’s why I stopped shopping there. That and their return policy. You cannot get a actual person anymore. They have great prices but the shipping kills any savings.

As far as motor mounts I just replaced all of mine. I just got aftermarket ones. They seemed no different than the factory ones.
