Not trying to be logical here, because we can all look up the ratings, and frankly many mfrs have better and worse models, just like with cars. But is there a brand you prefer, and is there one you will not buy?
For me, my two favorite brands are Continental and Bridgestone. When I was young it was all Michelins. I also like Pirelli and Falken a bit. Dislike American brands especially Firestone but I don't really have a good reason for that.
For decades it was Michelin but they always ended up being as hard as bricks over time. The ride quality went to nothing. I ran Contis for a while and they handled great, rode great but I could never get more than 40,000 miles from a set no matter the price. Ran the Bridgestones on the cars and trucks and back in the 80's they were about as good as a tire could be. Great traction, long life, and at a decent price. I just took off a set of Bridgestone Pole Position 960s that had so much road noise you couldn't have a conversation in the car. Rode like crap too. If I didn't know better, I'd think they were made by Michelin. I've been running Yokohamas on the truck for the last 6 years. The biggest issue is you have to know how to buy them in regards to air pressure. Some are rated at 35 lbs and fuel mileage takes a major dump-over 25% drop in fuel mileage. But if you buy those rated at 51lbs, fuel mileage is not effected. I liked them so much that I replaced the Bridgestones with Yokos and the car rides as good as a limo and is extremely quiet. So for now, it's a Yoko or nothing for me. Great tire life, great ride, quiet, great wet traction, great handling, and a decent price. And I've never had a flat with a Yoko. Contis seemed to be a nail and screw magnet and I was always having tire flats, usually at the cost of tire replacement.

Had a set of BF Goodrich's for over 7 years which were a great wearing tire, good ride and handling. I noticed tire rot so Igot rid them even though they had maybe 5,000 miles left. They had over 50,000 miles on them.
I got a cheaper set of General tires, the Altimax. They seemed to ride a little harsh but have softened a bit. Wet and dry traction are very good. I'll have to wait for snow since they have only seen slush this past late winter/ early spring.
For the price its hard to beat, Cooper, Hankook or Falken.
