'05 GTO just had new rack/pinion and tie rods installed. Everything seemed to be ok until a few days I noticed that when I'm sitting still and I turn the wheels to the right, I'm getting a slight vibration on the steering wheel. No power steering noise. I don't get a vibration when turning the wheels to the left.
I know the bushings they use on the suspension on this car are terrible and I plan on replacing all them with my bonus check at the end of the year. But does anyone have a hunch on what this could be?
As soon as I ask about it, it stops doing it. Couldn't get it to vibrate today at all. Guess I'll go ahead and replace both front hub bearings when I replace the bushings.
No, you go ahead and do 2 things:
1. BLEED your power steering, as you may simply have air trapped, resulting in cavitation and vibration
2. Test hub bearings.
Why would you "Just replace" something that may be perfectly fine? Those run close to $200 each plus labor, even if you DIY.
