WORSE car purchase... my ONLY brand new (factory order)

1974 GMC 4x4 Short Box. What a POS. Sold it 10 yrs old... 34,000 miles. seldom made it home without breaking. The guy test drove it and it broke again. I took a few more hundred $ off. Good riddance.

Back to 'beaters' for me (for life)
No more GM trucks ( I hate walking home)

I regret buying a 2002 Passat 1.8T out of college in 2004. I spent $5K decking it out (wheels, lowered, chip, lights, etc) and traded it in for a new 2006 GTO after 1.5 years. Should have kept to my initial plan and got a proton yellow 2001 Isuzu VehiCROSS. I still love seeing those rare birds on the road.

Something tells me that had you owned this instead of the Passat, you would have severely regretted it!

I think so. although I can't imagine why. But I had a hard time finding it in parking lots. That's when I started parking in the same aisle all the time, even if I had to walk forever.

The car was also low to the ground. When we started our janitorial company, it was a nightmare to load up with boxes of lights.... that's when I put my foot down and we bought a Toyota Matrix. I love that car... and it's blue.

We cross shopped the 2012 VW Passat TDI and the 2012 VW Jetta TDI quite a bit. The dealerships were wanting a premium for a Passat TDI at the time, and I wasn't willing to pay it so we went with the Jetta TDI. On paper, the Jetta TDI increased in rear leg room over an inch from the previous model, but had about 2" less rear leg room than the Passat I had been shopping. We decided that the difference wasn't enough to warrant the bigger payment and off we zoomed. I LOVE my Jetta TDI, but I don't feel that the numbers were a solid indicator of the size, since our car seats are a bit more tight than I would have liked...and when going on a long road trip, I always wish I had the extra room and storage capacity the Passat offered...but either way, I still love my car.

The one with the twin carbs that kept going out of balance? I had one of those. Absolutely horrible car. When I finally sold it to another sucker, I went on a weeks vacation to Corfu to celebrate. Come to think of it, you didn't live in Nottingham in the 80s did you?

I regret buying my current car, an Infiniti G37x big time. Two major issues. One is the transmission. It will "hunt" for a gear when coming back on the gas. It causes a hesitation that's almost dangerous, especially if you're trying to pull out into fast moving, or heavy, traffic. It's a known issue among owners but something Infiniti doesn't see as a problem.
The second issue is fuel consumption. It's official figures are 18 city, 25 highway. I've never seen more than 14 mpg out of it.

I ended up going with the 350z and regretted it. Aside from the nice looks the car was a pig. Heavy, bad braking, etc.. The S2k looks like its going to be a collectors car and I wish I had chose that one.

This was probably my most regretful purchase, automotive-wise.
This doesn't have anything to do with the actual quality of the 350z but I think of it as a purchase with bad luck associated with it... I knew someone who bought it using home equity (bad idea to begin with) and several years later heavily in debt from other things, their spouse surprises them by driving home in a brand new one! So they have two 350zs or whatever the model was at the time in their driveway, plus another car or two. They ended up having to sell the old cars for cash and trading in the new one for something more practical, though just as expensive.

A bright orange Yugo! It wasn't the color that I regretted, though I should have regretted that too.

Default Do you regret buying a vehicle? Why?

Every GM vehicle I ever owned; Buick, Chevy, GMC pick up.

Worst three vehicles ever.

By far.
