Hello,
I have a decent car (2012 Ford F-150 supercab) but my newly wedded wife does not have a decent car. She has a 1994 Dodge Caravan which is probably worth <500.
I was looking at a few cars and i was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas. I am a divorced husband with 2 kids and a newly wedded wife, my wife works with law enforcement and I am a part time "inventor" and I work at a restaurant. We average about a healthy 2k-2.5k a week and both work about 5 days a week. My car is 100% paid off as well.
We were looking at a few cars-
1. 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe
2. 2010 Ford Edge
3. 2010 Ford Fusion
A little bit about our location:
Quite large city, on the coast, about 214,000 people. We live close to the beach. Our county has over 1 million people in it, with the county seat having 920,000 people in it. We also live in the mountains.
Does it need to fit a particular want or need? Does it need to last for a very long time or is it a stop gap for a couple years? Is your income a lot, or not much in your local? Do you have a lot of free, disposable income in your finances or not?
Does your wife have any preferences? I know mine would not want me to pick a car for her without her knowledge, input, or ability to make the decision herself.

My income isn't alot and i want some cash still free.
Have you considered a vehicle with a salvage title? You usually get 40-50% off FMV and if you have details on the damages and repairs performed, you can usually have a good peace of mind.
None of the cars you mention are particularly well suited to a city of 214,000 on the coast that is also a county seat. That county seat unfortunately eliminates a lot of otherwise suitable choices.
Which has the better reputation? Less miles etc. you will end up with two gas guzzlers. No interest in at least one economy car? You could get a Honda or Toyota new for less than $20,000
