If they do that then they are not into those cars at all. The three are what remains of the basic Muscle car or Poni Car meaning kind of what Mustang got started back in the mid 60's.

A sports car is more along the lines of a small preferably 2 seater, hopefully open roof, nimble, easy cornering, low to the ground, fast car. Miatta mostly fits the bill, Porsche 911, and a few other Porsche models fit the bill, MG, Triumph, Austin, and a few other British brands that are much older cars and not produced now also fit the bill. The Corvette meets the criterea for me anyway.

I dont mind buying used or buying older models (no older than 5 yrs.) but is 15k-25k reasonable for that salary range?

Also I didnt wether to put this in finance ir auto so sorry. .

P.s. I call these sports cars because thats what it says they are and if that bothers you too bad. Also I'm not concerned with practicality (insurance, gas, etc.). ..thats for boring people lol (I would never, however, put myself in a financial bind over a car). Lastly, im in no rush this is just a potential scenario but im young and would much rather own a camaro over an altima.
I looked up a couple sales sites and was amazed at what these places were calling sports cars. Although I saw some very nice cars listed they are still not sports cars. Some can be called Sports coupes, the Fiat Abarth (A 500 but with a lot more power and fun) is a car that I want to get and can find one for under $20,000 (They list for over $22,000) It is listed in a story with sports cars but is admittedly even in the story, not a sports car.

The best way to buy one of these cars is to save up for it. You figure out what you want and you start saving up for it. Your money grows in an account and within 4 or 5 years you pay off the car.

A 2+2 is considered a sports car as long as it meets the other requirements. Usually the only people that will fit in the +2 is a kid or a set of luggage of some kind. Ferrari made a couple 2+2 and you would be hard pressed to find someone that would not agree that they were sports cars.

The Porsche 911 Turbo is a 2+2. But, I'm sure it's not a real sports car. Ha.

It's going to vary depending on which car you choose, and even what options it comes with. Insurance, maintenance, registration, fuel, repairs, &c. are all operating costs you will need to put into your monthly budget.

If you have enough in your savings account to buy the car, then you simply need to take care of the operating costs. You should never buy "toys" with money you don't already have. Sure, take out a loan if it makes mathematical sense, but only if you already have the money to pay it off in full.

Those aren't really sports cars. Let's say a fully loaded V8 (non-SRT/Shelby/etc) version is $30k more or less. I would say about $70-80k income to do it comfortably.

For a Sports car like a Porsche 911, Jaguar XK, etc. it's a bit more.

Wow, that would be a rare Nissan 370Z.... The 350Z and the 370Z have never had the 2+2 option.

BTW, there are some sports cars with seating for 4. The 1990 - 1996 Nissan 300ZX had a 2+2 option. Porsche as well...

In the traditional definitions, 2+2s were GTs, not sports cars, even with Ferraris and Porsches (and usually said so right in the model name). It's where the Ferrari 250 GT California, GTO and 365 GTB/4 came from, as well as the Porsche 911 GT2 and 911 GT3.

I've never heard anyone say a 4 seater can't be considered a sports car. The iconic Porsche 911 has always offered 4 seater versions and they are all most definitely sports cars.
