We ended up going with a JDM engine. The company is out of Texas and has an A rating with the BBB. :-)

Well I had a bad experience on ebay. Let me tell you that 6 months or 2 months warranty posted by vendor on ebay is worthless because if you call the vendor after 2 months he will choose not to honor the warranty and ebay will not be able to help. I had a similar problem.

I believe Engine World Inc in Houston is the best and most reliable source. My dad has a repair shop and he has been buying engines from them. They test every engine and they have their head office in Japan. Hope this helps !

Nope, I didn't, and the engine has been in for over 2 years now with zero problems. The secret to these Caddy Northstars is to not let them overheat. This is my second one and neither one had the dreaded head gasket problems. That 50,000 motor ended up being a really good one.

I would recommend buying low mileage JDM engine from Engine World Inc in Houston. They import low mileage engines from Japan.

I only had good luck with remanufactured parts (long blocks or transmissions). My F150 R470W took a dump at 221K and I purchased a remanufactured one from Ford. $1450 + $600 core. I also invested in a good aftermarket cooler and had it installed for $300 labor. I wouldn't have risked a rebuilt or used.

For me its https://orbimotors.com/used-car-engines/. You can find an engine by brand, model or even engine code. And they give you warranty for a used engine. They have rebuilt car engines as well.

Your car is not worth putting an engine in. Use your money to buy a running car
