About a week ago, but it finally did. There was indication it was the battery, so I drove around for 30 minutes to build it back up and it did fine until yesterday when it wouldn't start and had to be jumped. Fortunately I was somewhere where a friend was handy and the car started soon after the cable was attached. I drove directly to the Nissan Dealership.

2 months ago when I was at the dealership for an oil change, the mechanic said my battery was low and needed to be changed. Turns out it was still under warranty and they installed a new battery at no charge. Then these 2 episodes of trouble with the battery.

It was checked and supposedly nothing is wrong. It checked fine, nothing wrong. Nonetheless, he fed it more juice for 30 minutes just to be sure. I think the battery they put in my car 2 months ago is probably a cheap model. It's so annoying to think I have a new battery and the car won't start. I drive a 2006 Nissan Altima. I am at their mercy. grrr

Op. Drive your car to the nearest Autozone or advance auto
Ask them for a free battery and alternator test.

If they've checked it and say nothing is wrong, chances are there's nothing wrong. The battery would still be under warranty so they're not out anything if they replace it again.

And I'm assuming they checked the entire charging system and not just the battery, plus the fact that "driving it around for 30 minutes to build it back up" apparently did the trick would indicate that the alternator is producing a charge as it should.

From your post it sounds like this was a one-time thing, correct? It's been starting fine since?

Any chance a door was left ajar causing an idiot light to stay on, or a cell phone charger or other device was left plugged in overnight before you had the problem? From what you've said it really sounds like the battery was run down one time for some reason and hasn't had any more problems since being recharged.

It was a two-time thing and the second and worse time was only yesterday. I'm sure they checked the alternator. Nope, nothing that would run the battery down happened. I don't drive a lot and the mechanic mentioned that as a reason it happened.

I have no idea what "check for a draw" means... ???

It means it sounds like there's something drawing power and draining the battery when the car is shut off. If it's not something obvious like the things I mentioned before it can be hard to track down.

Sometimes mechanics, even at dealerships, get lazy. Check the battery cables and make sure they are clean and tight
