For me, this is sort of like picking my three favorite dishes made with Lima beans. Doesn't mean I cannot appreciate a nice classic with a big block, or the random nice finished wagon... but they generally don't get too close to my room of "favorite" automobiles.
In the early 80s, my dad bought a Plymouth Volare. My mom has never let him live that down. He has Alzheimers now, and she still btiches at him about that car. I don't even remember what it was about that car that was somehow inadequate. It may just be that he had instructions to buy something else and defied her, not really anything about the car itself. I did them the big favor of totaling it in 1984. So we went out in a hurry and bought a Ford Fairlane. Which none of us liked, but my mom insisted that we needed a wagon as long as she had kids in college, and she would have nothing to do with mini-vans because she didn't like having to step that high off the ground (she was never firmly grounded in logic or fact)
Then they bought a Buick Century wagon which she loved. and they owned a few other Buick Century's after that.
I drive a 2005 Subaru Forester and it was love at first sight. That car is my faithful sidekick. I feel bad that it is getting old-looking, but to be honest, I'm just going to replace it with another Forester, so I might as well stick with the one I have.
My brother had the same model forester for some time, and my other brother bought a 2014 Forester.
My top 2 are the Cadillac CTS-V wagon and the 80's Country Squires. Lots of memories from riding in the pop-up well seats in the back. Great storage, too. The CTS-V is just nasty. A solid street beast that can carry golf clubs, strollers and large coolers. I really like the front end on them.
