Neither have a decent amount of detergent in their fuel. Hate to say that since many in my family work for Marathon. It's the auto companies calling for more detergents, not the oil companies. Top tier fuels were created because the auto companies asked for it, and most recommend it in the owners manual.

You can find ethanol free gas if you look for it: Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

But is it "top tier"?

I'm still looking for that phrase in my 2014 Owner's Manual.

I've seen places like Shell on my local list of ethanol-free gas stations. Yep, top tier.

Certain manufacturers (GM, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, etc) do mention "top tier" gas in the manual.

I guess I'll stop buying Fords and Subarus.

The closest station to me is about 40 miles and doesn't list a brand. One place is a marina so it's going to be $.60/gallon more.

Just keep what you are using now never in my adulthood did I ever have a problem with gas that I bought from any gas station. I get my gas from peedway, thortons, WaWa , Costco ,or SAMs club.

Cars will still work with regular gas. You decide if you want the detergent additives.
