Depends on the road. If it is safe to slow or stop you do. If it isnt, you don't. I don't care what is in the road.

The real problem is that automotive technology is still in its infancy. It's been a long infancy and a lot of people have died. The technology can't be considered mature until you can push the duck button, or shout duck, and the car can figure out in a small fraction of a second whether you mean there is a duck ahead or a low vertical clearance.

stopping on freeway is a recipe for pileup crashes where many could loose their life...so don't do it.

The number of car lengths depends on your speed. If everyone is acting crazy as if their goal is to end up dead, that doesn't mean you have to blindly copy their behavior. When the traffic is bumper to bumper, and going 5 MPH, it's not very dangerous. But when it speeds up, it's no longer bumper to bumper, except for the crazy ones that need to be weeded out of the gene pool. And the drivers ahead of them are crazy too, for tolerating such tailgating. The more they tailgate, the slower you should go, to motivate them to pass, because they need to go faster, to arrive at their fatal accident on time.

People traveling at high speed on an expressway arent necessarily tailgating they are just following the car in front at a reasonable distance to slow down if necessary, following at a distance to avoid the car in front slamming on his brakes for some ducks is a circumstance that is not taken into consideration and is almost impossible to maintain as leaving 7-10 car lengths between you and the car in front on a busy high speed expressway will have other cars continually pulling in to that space resulting in you constantly backing off the gas resulting in more cars filling your excessive safety gap and you going slower and slower creates a danger in its own right as you end up going much slower than the prevailing flow of traffic...
Rather comical logic you have there eok if you think every one going faster than you is a crazy maniac just out for the sole purpose of arriving at their fatal accident on time, every one but you is crazy and should be weeded out of the gene pool.....Really?

So anything on the freeway should be mowed down because "you" are in to much of a hurry. Most of you sound like soulless selfish jerks, ducks, kittens, puppies, children too bad because the azzhats are in a hurry

You'd never make it in a big City. You travel the same speed as everyone else because if you don't, you die. There is no "hurry" about it. It's common sense to travel the same speed.

If someone intentionally causes a multi-car pile up, and there are witnesses they will get the book thrown at them.

It has nothing to do with being in a hurry, and everything to do with my safety and the safety of all other motorist on the road. Stopping on a road where the speed limit is 60mph+ is unsafe and wreckless. Did you watch that video? How many near accidents did they cause because people decided to slam on their brakes?

So on a busy high speed freeway you are going to be jamming on your brakes and coming to a complete stop to let some ducks walk across the road? Have you given any thought to the consequences of such an action, perhaps the potential for human lives lost in the ensuing traffic pileup as a result of your actions.
I'll try to avoid ducks if possible but bottom line human lives will trump duck lives every time.
Heres the usual outcome of your actions=
