I forgot to mention you would probably get a lot of chaff from the backyard mechanics here.

But if you posed the same question to experienced aircraft mechanics, they would understand the concept of preventative maintenance. (They don't like to have their airplanes fall out of the air!)

BTW I knew an aircraft mechanic who went to automotive school after leaving the military... The school wound up hiring him to be a teacher there! (He was an excellent mechanic to say the least...)

No reason at all to replace the starter or fuel pump. If you WANT to replace them, more power to you but it is a waste of money in my opinion. Also, the water pump should have been changed at the same time the timing belt was changed for sake of ease and maintenance. Also, as noted earlier, in 2004, only the Civic Si models were DOHC and if your vehicle is an Si, it has a chain and not a belt.
