This use to be a big segment in the 80s & 90s. Most were FWD but a few were RWD. Their popularity was cheap sporty looking base model with decent fuel economy and good handling. They also had a slightly higher performance model with more powerful engine, better suspension, and more options as standard features. Of the sporty coupes, which would you pick?
Civic coupe, Forte Koup, or Scion tC.
Civic Si
Prelude,
Integra
CRX Si
Del Sol
Celica
Nissan 240
I'm a fan of these cars, ther's mor but I can't think of them right now.
I have a 88 CRX Si, 95 Del Sol with the rare DOHC Vtec engine, and 98 Integra GSR, all came only with stick shift.
350/370Z or a BRZ/FRS. Great cars and reliable. 350Z looks very good still. I think even better than when it came out and lots of mods out there for them.
Presume he's talking new. And if excluding the Genesis then under $25k?
Forte Koup SX with the 200hp turbo is the bargain of the group. I bought the hatch version myself for my commuter for $17,9.
Civic SI
TC
BRZ/FR-S
Mini Cooper S(as long as you stay out of the bazillion options)
If a hatchback coupe works for you:
Golf TSI
Veloster Turbo(sort of a coupe?)
Think that's it as far as sporty compact coupes < $25k.
