We bought a house in Punta Gorda Fl back in March. We have been down 6 times last year. This past visit over New Years week, we came out of the bait shop and I said to my wife: "Look Louise, there's your car!"

These cars are NOT "death traps"
And sports cars are massive fun to drive. Sounds like you wont even give them a chance due to a mistaken notion.
They are fun, I drove a Solstice once a few years ago. However, they were not made for this tall guy. Needed a few more inches for the knee. Haven't seen a Saturn version in years, I see a few Pontiac versions during the summer around here in ID.
