The 2016 Toyota Tacoma just came out a few months ago, the one I priced is $36,632 factory invoice, $39,183 MSRP. Trucar price is $38,214. When do you think this car will be selling at or near invoice?

On another note I am just in shock at how crazy new car prices have become, the model above is not even the Limited, it's the 4x4 A/T TRD Sport with the Premium/Audio upgrade/Tech package, floor mats and a bed extender.

I wouldn't expect it to be anytime soon, unless Tacoma sales drop off significantly. I don't think even the dated 2015 Tacomas had much in the way of factory incentives, except maybe something like a $500 rebate on some of the higher-end models.

Considering Toyotas sales structure I doubt you see any discounts at all. I assume you are aware that even the dealers do not buy from Toyota direct. They buy thru regional distribution centers kinda like tires. Far too many hands in the cash register for any major discounts to be passed along to the consumer. Apparently the Toyota fans don't mind paying out the nose for one.

That depends on what part of the country you are in. The south and southwest are pretty much covered by either Gulf States Toyota, and Southeast Toyota, the two remaining distributors. Dealers in the rest of the country get their Toyotas direct from Toyota.

You could call Gulf States Toyota and Southeast Toyota classic examples of a "middle man".

2016's just came out not that long ago, and for a good-selling model? Probably not anytime soon. Why would they if they don't have to?

I've been price shopping the Tacoma for many years and I've never seen much of a discount on them ever, maybe $1200 tops. So if you like it, buy it, cause you won't ever see huge discounts on them anytime soon.

Personally, I'd rather get the Tundra at $5k off.

I agree, you will probably never see much in the way of discounts but then again, they hold their value like crazy.

Ain't gonna happen.
Same with Colorado Canyon.
They can't make them fast enough.

Even Ford is coming back with the Ranger.

If you really want it, or need it, just go get it. Life is way too short waiting around for an extra $500 off a $30K+ vehicle. If $500 is that big of a deal, you would be buying late model used and saving thousands anyway.

well, guess I will not be buying a Tacoma then... I don't want to pay $38,000 for a vehicle that does not even have any sort of luxury, interior of the TRD Sport model is pretty damn basic. WAY too expensive for what is being offered.
