Sorento is roomy but the Kia/Hyundai models always seem to be thirsty.
Highlander gets my vote unless you do diesel.

still, in reality a highlander hybrid is 45K. a pathfinder is around 35K

I never said it was like an Odyssey, I merely explained that comparing it to a Camry was not accurate.

By all means, stash your kids in the camry trunk and explain to the cops that it's the same thing as a highlander.

If you go by listed interior volume, the Highlander has about 35% more than the Camry.

If your margin of error for things being roughly the same is +/-35% then I cannot help you.

ALL - went with a 2014 Santa Fe Limited Ultimate with AWD. got it for around 28k with 27K miles. for the MPG/interior room/features vs cost - I couldn't do better than this

Try Mitsubishi Pajero. It's a 7 seater (well, it's a bench kind of seat in the back ). It's not too pricey and is very spacious. And it's a full 4WD
