A to point B and savings tons of money. Here you go.

1997 Geo Metro

- 45 MPG (prepare for big savings)
- 1832 lbs (Lightweight, baby)
- 55 hp (Why bother about horsepower, when is all about getting to your destination, right?)
- Cheap insurance and maintenance

If you care about driving, you drive that's fun to drive. A more appropriate thread title would be "People who only need basic transportation"

I had a 1995 GEO Metro 5 speed manual transmission and 3 cylinder engine. Car got great mileage and was fun to drive. Kind of wish I had still had it but when gas prices were high, I put it on Craigslist for $600 more than I paid for it and some guy came with cash and gave asking price. Drove it for 5 years and only vehicle I ever made money on.

Now you can buy several small cars that get great MPG and have a lot more safety features than the Metro.

I saw one that had been in a crash, squeezed between a car that was stopped and another that didn't. Crumpled like a taco shell. The driver never had a chance. In a lot of other cars, he would have suffered no injuries at all.

Another reason I was ready to move on from owning the Metro. Very intimidated by semi's and going through a car wash seemed like being in a hurricane.

A car for people who care nothing about their safety.

Yeah. my car has air conditioning that works, more reliable, better gas mileage, more comfortable, faster, handles better, more comfortable, more practical, safer. It does cost more but you get what you pay for.

I don't think the Geo Metro was the perfect car for ANY reason, for anyone. Certainly not for someone who cares about driving!

Yeah,
this is not what a crash test should look like.
