Greetings,
What are some non-big, U.S.-made, vehicle models in which a diesel engine can be had for both new and used vehicles here in the U.S.?
Thank you
Jeep Liberty
Chevy Cruze
VW Jetta/Golf/Passat
Mercedes with Blue-Tec
Cruze- Yes
VW Jetta/Golf/Passat- Jetta and Golf are not made in the US, although they are built in Mexico. The Passat is built in the US. However, none of these are currently being built with a diesel due to the whole scandal. You could pick up a used one though.
The real scandal is that the EPA is trying to get rid of internal combustion engines, and especially those powered by diesel.
Chevrolet has a Cruze Diesel sedan, and the Colorado pickup. The GMC Canyon is identical. You can get a diesel engine as an option on the Ram 1500, but those are not small pickups and not cheap. I think the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the only Jeep currently available with a diesel engine.
Bmw has a three series diesel...I think it is built in the US.
The newest non us built is the Jaguar F Pace....base model has a diesel.
Nope, BMW only builds SUVs in the US now. They did build the 3 Series here quite a few years ago though. There is an X5 diesel though, so the OP could consider that.
