With all of the fees, extra charges, taxes added to the purchase of a tire, next will be- inflating with air will be an optional charge. 'Do you want air with that tire?'

What the hell happened to inflate these prices?

I even recall when it was no charge.
I annoys the hell out of me that you have to pay for air period.

Most any tire facility, like Discount Tire, will check your tires and fill them with air for free, whether you bought tires from them or not.

I agree with this and just pull up to a tire dealer for a courtesy check. I have never been turned away and it has not occurred to me to pay for air.

I have a compressor in the garage. I have to add air that first below freezing night and again that first subzero night.

Get a foot-operated pump to carry with you. They will throw out more air than a hand pump. But back when I used a car, I did just fine with my high-pressure bicycle pump that had an accurate gauge built-in.

I go to the place where I bought my tires (very close by) and get my tires checked for free....which is good because they used nitrogen...

Shame if you don't have a QuikTrip gas station in your area. Without a doubt the best gas station and the air is free as well.

Inour area WAWA convenience stores offer free air. The pumps across the street at Giant charge $1.50. Want to guess where I buy my gas?
