Biggest scams are in the dealership service departments.Ever go for an oil change without the service guy coming out to tell you that they "discovered" some other problem?
They are taught to upsell every service customer........come in for routine service and you suddenly need a radiator flush or brakes aren't right blah, blah

The service writer is paid on commission. A really good one can earn $90K a year...

If that is your experience, find a better dealer. I have one specific GM dealer I use and nobody else touches my car. They are trustworthy, perform the service I've asked for, and don't try to pull fast ones on me.

local Cadillac dealer has an artist who does pin stripes with his hand. Once I knew what that was I was no thanks, I don't want any lines on my suv

Here in Texas, it's $175 floor mats. I actually made one salesman red faced mad when I picked them up and said " you can have these back, they're cheaper at Wal Mart".

Come on, $175 financed over 5 years is only $2.92/month. That's a less than a value meal

I might take some actual art, but pin stripes are not art, they're bad kitch from the 70s.
