my engine on my 2007 Hyundai TUSCON. My mechanic said he is unable to locate a Used engine. I only had 89,000 miles on my engine. I cannot afford not do I want to risk buying another used
Vehicle at this time. I am a single woman and live on a tight budget. I recently started searching online for used engines but am skeptical and don't want really know what I'm doing???Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Visit any reputable salvage yard. There are many in near big cities but everywhere.
They are all computerized. They can find an engine for you.
Your mechanic should have known this. So much for that mechanic.

Better get a friend, neighbor, relative to help you. Get a warranty and READ it.

Myself, I'd get another used car and not bother with all of this.

...
Agreed. I talked to a reputable salvage on the phone when I needed a transmission. They helped me choose a car to get it from and shipped it to a local yard for a good price and with a warranty.

Car-Part.com - Used Auto Parts Market

Only buy with an A rating on parts. The junkyard I've used has a warranty and I just used it with no problems.

Have you heard of A M Auto Parts? They are out of Tampa. They have a 90 day warranty on their engines and A rating.

I have to wonder if the timing belt wasn't replaced at 5 years or 60,000 miles. Newer Hyundai/Kia engines use a timing chain, so no issues anymore. But my 2003 Kia had a timing belt failure at six years, 55,000 miles. Got a new engine at no charge under the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.
