Have a 2011 Mazda6....due to some encounters with New Mexico jackrabbits etc etc been thinking about fixing the cracked front bumper. Car has 205K (!!!!) and so I don't want to go the body shoppe route. Any tips on materials or even a kind of tape to hold it together....from the inside so you don't see the repair?
Honestly? It cost me $200 to buy a new bumper and have it painted for my 01 Jetta with 300k miles. I've done cheap tape fixes before, but they all fail with heat. I've even tried my hand at "plastic welding", it sorta works but needs to be refinished to make it look good. About the best solution I've had any luck with is using Fiberglass on the backside of the plastic.

This.
I bought a bumper for my 2008 Altima a few years ago from some gigantic warehouse that specializes in parts for collision repair. I believe I paid $80. Altogether, paint job included, it was in the $200 range.
Otherwise, yeah, Gorilla tape... But it won't last forever.
ECCO clamps form office supply stores can work for some things for a while. They fall off eventually but are easy to replace and cost about 10 cents each.
Nothing called patching will work long term.
And it's not a bumper, but bumper cover.
Those are cheap. Look up place called Certifit.
Simply replace cover with new one from them. yes, it's black, but black matches everything and looks classy. It will be more feasible than trying to patch this and that and, in long run, still replacing cover anyway.
If you've got comprehensive insurance, it'll pay 100% for wildlife accidents. I hit a deer (or it hit me) a couple years ago. It cost $4-$5K to fix it. Cost me nothing.
I know a guy that just uses duct tape and then sprays the right color.
