There is a t-intersection close to my house with only two stop signs. If I'm driving straight and have a stop sign, should I yield to the vehicle who is coming from the opposite direction and turning left and does not have a stop sign? I always thought I have to yield but when I did this morning the lady behind me got very upset and was honking.

You are doing it right. If you have a stop sign, you stop and yes, you yield to the oncoming traffic that does not have a stop sign. There is an intersection identical to that near my house that I drive through every day and some people there don't seem to get that either.

That's because the lady behind you is an idiot and doesn't actually understand the rules of the road. Keep doing what you're doing

She's not going to pay for the wreck if you collect the oncoming car. Send her a one line message next time she honks.

In a more constructive vein, ask the local authorities for another stop sign; cite the danger.

Just like those losers who honk at me for not:

1. Turning right on a red that has a LARGE sign that says no right turn on red
2. Turning right when their are pedestrians in the crosswalk

If you have a stop sign, you have to stop. And yes you do have to yield to the other car.

There is a similar intersection near my house, a 4-way where the north-south street is two-way, and the east-west cross street is one way going east until it hits the intersection, where it changes to a two-way street. When you are heading west on the two-way section, when you hit that intersection you must turn either left or right, and those people making that left turn have no stop sign AND, thus, have the right of way over the folks going north, who DO have a stop sign.

The first few times I drove through that intersection going north I almost got clobbered, because it is a very weird configuration, one I haven't seen anywhere else in my area. It's a 4-way intersection, but only 3 of the streets coming into it have stop signs. That entire neighborhood is also a mish-mash of alternating one way streets, and you really have to stay observant as to the proper direction.

She might not have realized the other side didn't have a stop sign and had the right of way

Put your car in park, run back (carefully watching for cars) and ask her if she needs you to call 911. Most places it is illegal to use a horn except for emergencies or to avoid an accident. Since you are avoiding causing an accident, she is obviously having an emergency and needs you to call for police or ambulance. Get back there and ask her which one- that lady could be dying yu do not want to ask 911 for a policeman if she needs an ambulance or vice versa.
