We live out in the country and we park outdoors (carport). We have 3 Fords and never had a rodent issue. But my brother-in-law also lives out in the country and has had mice in the car on more than one occasion. Toyota. Hmm...
I belong to a FB group from Colorado and many have had issues with rodents eating wires while parked at trailheads. Some have found that wrapping the bottom of their car with wire mesh is the answer while others use mothballs and hang them near the engine.
I park a 10 year old Acura outside at the house, near work overnight, and at family's house in rural NC and no rodent issues ever. I didn't the rodent issue was that big for a car that is moved at least weekly My car rarely sits still for more than 3-4 days at a time.
Also, some old cars: Ford Falcon, Plymouth Barracuda, AMC Hornet, Mercury Cougar.
