High mileage doesn't scare me, I simply prefer low to middle range vehicles.

The only high mileage car you should ever consider is one where ALL maintenance records are available. I know there is a chnaces someone could lie and state they replace a timing belt, but if you are buying a used car with 150K-200K miles, you never know what is in the waiting to be replaced.

I sold a G6 GXP with 90K in great condition, but in the next 10K the car was going to need tires, 4 new brakes and probably rotors too, coolant flush, serpentine belt, struts were getting rougher, to go along with headlights that randomly shorted out and rear door locks that worked whenever ( luckily they worked during trade in). Who ever bought that for $12K they dealer sold it for later would have payments and a $2k of repairs waiting for them in those coming months, as im sure all the dealer did was put on new tires at best.

I agree with this, and it's the reason I've kept every single printout of any maintenance I've done on my 2005 vehicle. I have a giant folder in my home office for all the records, and have referred back to them on occasion when the timing of a recommended replacement seemed off to me. The good news is that from 2006 onward it's all available online as well as I always go to the same mechanic and he keeps everything online.

I currently have about 180K miles on my car, and plan to drive it at least another 2-3 years before I give it to my son. I'm the only owner as I bought it brand new.

I would say that if the car can pass a smog test, it is probably ok. Don't overpay though. Don't pay more then KBB. Run the car and gas it. Look for smoke, and indicator of worn rings. Look at the tranny fluid and smell it. Is it still red? Look for major leaks. ANY car with high mileage will have oil leaks, but you don't want a flood of oil. Check the freon level if you have a gauge. Is it low? A sure sign of a leak. Does the A/C work, and the heater.

I did have mine online for my 2000 car, until Yahoo Motors decided to get rid of its garage feature and not tell anyone, so I lost 12 yrs of records at the time when they did that.

any car can go a million miles if you keep repairing and replacing stuff....but who wants to drive a vehicle like that. I would prefer a change of car occasionally .

It depends on how quickly you can get to one million miles. If you drive 25k miles a year, then 40 years, and not many would want to drive that much in a 40-year-old car. But if you drive 50k a year, then only 20 years, and that's not so bad. I have a 2003 model-year car that gets driven over 50k miles a year and it is still a very pleasant driving experience.

Brand of cars scare me more than high mileage. For example, I'd take a Toyota Camry with 200k miles over a Dodge Charger with 75k miles any day.

You do notice that they will use a Camry as a yellow cab but not a Charger!
