I would simply make sure you have good fuel filter, plugs and wires, distributor cap rotor and points are right and new , the timing is right, the carb is tuned correctly and you don’t hammer it everywhere you go. Drive slow without heavy acceleration.
Thanks for the advice!👍

the question you should be asking is why should i put a converter on my vintage camaro. the answer is there is no need to. you might see a small reduction in emissions, but not enough to bother with in the long run. in fact chances are that your engine runs rich enough that you would constantly be clogging up converters on a regular basis.

if you want to improve fuel economy and emissions, then tune your engine to get better fuel economy and better emissions.
Thank you!

Catalytic converter will do nothing except add weight to your car. What will improve your mpg by 10-15% is using no ethanol gas.

It's available in a number of places that are not non-attainment areas for air pollution. That excludes most major metropolitan areas, which are struggling to meet the numbers for various pollutants.

No ethanol is regular 87 but it costs more than premium 93 [at least in my area and not available at all stations] You would have to do a cost/benefit analysis compared to the average mpg your car gets to make a decision to buy it.

wrong again my friend. 1991 was the last of the box bodied panther chassis cars, and was the last to use the push rod V8s. 1992 was the first of the aero bodied panthers, and ALL of them used the 4.6 overhead cam mod motor, and ALL mod motors are fuel injected. before you go any further, you might want to do some research here Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Marauder, and Towncar and check the forums there. they have two listed one is the 1992-up aeros and whales the other is 1979-1991 boxes.
