Gas prices are climbing once again. I saw $2.85 a gal last night. I paid $2.67 at Walmart just down the street from that other station. Too high for me is $3 a gal.

You wouldn't be happy here. Even the Cheapest (Costco) is at $3.39. For me anything under $4 is OK, it's still not a big deal considering that $3 to $4 amounts to less than $100/month difference for my commute and my wife's.

In my case 10 bucks a gallon would not keep me from continuing my retirement driving. Unfortunately that price would stop our economy ......and I mean we would become a third world country with people starving in the streets.

Definitely seems like a lot. Who told you more than 120mi/day wasn’t?

I only do about 12mi commuting in a small pickup which gets 18mpg. I’m starting to feel it at the pump. Here has is going for 3.10+

I also did the high mile commute of 60 miles each way for 20 years. At 4 plus dollars a gallon for gas the cost of commuting adds up real fast. I had an uncle that had a long rough commute all urban lots of miles. Hang on to that 12 mile commute as long as you can. Check the tire air, the air cleaner, the oil changes, keep your foot out of it, they all put money in your pocket.

It is $4.05 at the cheapest station near where I am in the LA suburbs. Us Californians would love to have some of the prices quoted here.

Shopping for a used car for our new to be driver teen. A used Prius is starting to sound good even though I am not sure I want to have extra maintenance headache and a teen in a small car. I am DIY all the way.

No, sorry if that’s what it sounded like it’s 30 a day just back and forth to work. That’s not counting if I stop by the store that’s another 10 miles out of the way. It adds up fast I got 338k on it now it will pass 400K before summers done.

I think that gasoline is too expensive any time the price goes up. Basic human nature.

Only $4 a gallon to move a 3000 lb car 40 miles....What a deal.

Just imagine pushing it by hand.

Bring back $4 a gallon, perhaps then we'll see people trade in their SUVs again and see a repeat of 2008-2009. I get 40-43mpg in my hybrid, I'll be okay. There's really no reason why automakers can't make more hybrids and electric cars, except for the fact that Americans are addicted to gasoline and oversized vehicles.
