I agree. I am not really a fan of any of the Camaro, Mustang, etc. with the retro "look". Although some years of Mustang pull it off a little better.
The thing I don't like about the Challenger is it's HEAVY. I would expect a Challenger Hellcat to be one Hell of a handful, driving at any real speed.
It's actually not. The suspension is composed and the big tires offer enough grip that it just does what you tell it, though if you mash the throttle it will get a bit crazy. But that sort of power to weight will do that, regardless what the weight is. Challengers in general are great muscle cruisers with a lot of space and pace. Hellcats just dial that up a notch...
As for the retro look, I LOVE the Mustangs way they went about it with the '05-09 bodystyle. Enough so that I owned a customized one.
It looks like they took an '06 Charger, chopped off the rear doors, and photoshopped a vintage Charger's grille on to it. Not a cohesive design at all.
Meh. I think the whole retro look needs to take a step back. While it was cool it’s starting to get too stupid with aerodynamic futuristic and retro fusion. It’s just not working.
