But I always wonder why it is that when someone says they "want a fish," someone will come along and tell them how much better an orange is than a fish.
Not a cure--all, but a friendly reminder when a thread goes off topic.
I use it when a thread goes off topic.
Well, you're the one demanding a car with almost no trunk space. Howya gonna pack for the wife, kids and dog in a GT?
Isn't that exactly the point?
(Unearthed this thread when i was looking for comments on Superformance cars. They seem to make a great vehicle for the money. Of course, you can double the price when you throw in the engine and tranny).
...I'd be glad to take it off your hands. You can consider it a "Go Fund Me" for a (not so) young man who would love to have a great gar before he is done.
You know, at one time, I have even considered one of those GT40 kit cars; but was shocked to see that many of them promote the "big engine" you can put into the chassis - but then advise against driving it fast - what a waste.
Anyway, all donations will be considered! Uncle Warren? Uncle Bill? Are you listening?
That's my one and only - pinnacle "before I die" car. No maybe this car, or maybe that car. We are talking about the 1 car you want. What is yours?
Even if someone gave you one you would never be able to afford the maintenance, unexpected repairs, upkeep and insurance
I still want a replicar GT40 more than either of the modern Ford GTs.
He’s wrong about the replicar GT40s. They’re quite pliable and driveable. You don’t want to be hamhanded about it, but for a race car they are apparently quite reasonable to drive. A used Superformance GT40 is a life goal of mine.
Any pics?
I’d get one, but then prices shot up and now I would just be afraid of driving the value down every mile I drove it.
That's why I bought a high mile car (28.5k when I bought it, now has 31k). I feel absolutely no guilt hammering it down the freeway. The other benefit to buying a high mile car is the sub-$200k purchase price.
One thing I haven't done is taking good pictures, so here is a crappy one.....
OK, forgot I had a picture the previous owner had sent me.....
