What confuses me, is how can you forget it's there? The only ones I've ever seen, turn on as soon as you put the car in reverse and it's pretty obvious since they light up, etc. Are there cars that have them and you have to turn them on instead of them automatically turning on when you back up? Do you get so used to it that you don't notice it? How can you forget that it's there?
You forget it's there because it's unnatural to be looking fwd at your dash when going in reverse. I think that's why my wife refuses to use it - you're facing the wrong way.

Well, that sort of makes sense to me, but at the same time, when it flashes on, don't you see it? Then once you see it, how do you forget it's there?

It's usually part of the infotainment center. Ours changes screens everytime the song changes. Call it info "blindness."

Thanks for your reply. That makes sense. I guess since I don't have one, I don't really understand and I definitely notice them in rental cars when I see them.

I'd reckon someone would look back, put into reverse, and not really bother with it anyways. I mean, it IS there, but it's still possible to not really notice it. Some just don't really look at the screen.

I am on my third vehicle with the rear view so its auto for me to JUST look at the camera. I am so used to it I will never own another car without one. Also I am one year into my Honda Civic with a camera on the passenger side rearview mirror and it's a great help, and ultimately I have car play with a real nice size screen, something all my cars from here on auto will have to have.

Google Maps now works with my Apple Play and its GREAT........BTW The app is also available for Android Users.

The Google Maps is better than any expensive GPS out there. Technology for Drivers Improving everyday.
