Question on road rage...

When I get cut off in traffic which happens often, I'll usually hit the horn. Drivers respond by giving the finger. Why are people reacting this way when they're the ones who have done something wrong? Are they unable to accept fault in their actions and instead react in an apologetic way? I don't see how someone can respond with such aggression when they are the ones at fault. Thoughts?

You are lucky, that is all they do. It's probably just a matter of time before one of them pulls out a gun and takes a shot at you, or tries to run you off the road. That's the way road rage incidents start. For the record the purpose of a horn is to warn other drivers, not to take out your aggravation after the fact.

What purpose does hitting the horn do other than to make you feel better? By the time you hit it, it's not to avert an imminent impact.

I'm honking the horn to let them know they're doing something illegal and dangerous and putting lives at risk. Why is everyone siding with the person committing dangerous actions behind the wheel?

Do you guys frequently cut people off and drive wrecklessly? There seems to be a lot of support for dangerous driving.

They know what they are doing. They don't need you to honk at them to alert them. You just are promoting further road rage.

No. This contributor is a new poster promoting further forum rage. There’s a term for that

You asked a question about road rage. But you seem to be the one filled with road rage.

Take a chill pill.
