But I've never been in it when he's driven it over 100. I'm not sure what's the point of a car that can top out at such a high speed as that one can when the speed limit is 80 at best, though it IS a looker. He actually got stopped by a cop once, not for a ticket (he wasn't speeding - at the time) but just because the guy wanted to ask him about the car.
It’s a German car where there is no speed limit, problem solved.

A Chevy Lumina was the only car that snapped my head back with a touch on the pedal. A Crown Vic was the only car I passed 90 in.

My C6 Corvette. Took it up over 160 and it was still pulling strong. Now in terms of 1/4 mile quickness, my 600+ hp, 67 GTO!

The fastest car I've ever driven (which I also own) is my 2018 Dinan S1 tuned BMW M550i. 0-60 in 3.6, 11.7@120 in the 1/4 mile. 600hp in an AWD car is pretty brutal. I can't even imagine what something like a current gen M5 or Nissan GT-R feel like - both being much faster than my M550. The fastest vehicle I ever driven (also own) is my modded 2016 Yamaha R1M or maybe my old 2010 Kawasaki ZX14. Both are capable of 1/4 mile times in the 9s at 150+ mph and 0-60 under 2.5 seconds. Acceleration is downright ferocious and literally face distorting.

The fastest car I’ve ever been in is a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400. At 145 MPH it felt like a small rocket.

The fastest car you've ever been in, or the fastest you've ever driven a car? Big difference. The fastest I've ever driven a car was a 1971 AMC gremlin that the state trooper clocked me at 100mph on the nose. Spent the night in jail after he caught up to me. I'm not sure what the fastest capable car I've been in as that wasn't as memorable.

"ever been in" is probably meant as a passenger.

I suspect the OP never meant it to mean, "sitting in a parked vehicle," as some responders have indicated.

On the road, it would be a toss up between my Mustang GT and our Taurus SHO. I did go 187 on the race track during my Richard Petty Driving Experience.
