We just had a violent crisis just now and wow the windows can take quite a beating without breaking, hell even the dashboard went quite a bit without breaking

What gives? Are the plastic and glass today in cars built like tanks?

Nope. Some windows are thicker but most windows are no harder to break today than the past

Yes, they are breakable, although some tinted break harder than others.

Just some fisting and heated arguing lol, Saturdays are always very moody days for us for some reasons, but I mean it didn't last the long and we dramatized the event more than what it really was lol

Take an old spark plug and smash the insulator with a hammer and take a small piece about the size of a pinky nail and throw it against a car window and it will shatter.

Read this if you really want to know about automotive windows.

What’s the difference between my windshield and the other glass in my car?

it all depends on the temper of the glass. some times the temper is harder making the glass slightly more brittle, some times the temper is softer giving the glass the ability deform more before breaking. the difference is fairly small overall though.
