I bought a nice computer that had Windows 8 two years ago and hated it so much that I gave it to my handyman in exchange for some work. One day, when my 10-year old desktop computer commits suicide, I'll have to get a new computer and give up my beloved Windows XP. So far, I havent read whether or not Windows 10 will be available on new computers. I know there is no planned update from Windows XP to Windows 10.

Thanks, Bob! Good to know there are others out there who like XP so much too. I wont get rid of XP until I absolutely have to, like when my 10-year old desktop finally dies and cant be repaired.

I dont have a laptop or any other computer besides my desktop. Many people have tried to talk me into getting a laptop or tablet but I just dont see the need for one yet. I borrowed a laptop when I was recovering from my foot surgery and couldnt get out of bed for the first few months but I couldnt wait to get back to my desktop.

Had XP on my one desktop for years and it worked great. On my new one I have Windows 7. Definitely not as good.

I agree with Bob - Windows 7 are on my laptop also - and I have no plans to upgrade to Windows 10. For anybody even considering to upgrade to Windows 10 - you are absolutely insane. Just to master a new operating system (I don't know from Windows 8 maybe it's different, but from Windows 7 - no way). If I only can get rid off an annoying Icon pushing a Windows 10 upgrade from my console ??

Oh, that's right -- I had forgotten about Windows Vista. It came out between XP and 7, right? I never knew much about it because I was (and still am) so enthralled with XP.
