My last ticket was my most expensive - $185 fine. I got really lucky because the trooper nailed me going 79 mph in a 55 mph zone, which would normally have resulted in a fine of about $300. Plus that's a 6 point ticket in New York state, which would have meant additional assessments of about $200 per year for the next 3 years. So that total would have been about $900.
But the trooper was a cool guy and I guess he took a liking to me, because he wrote me up for 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. That lowered the fine a lot and eliminated the additional assessments.
I'd have done what my parents did after receiving some sort of heinous fine in Liverpool, in the 1980s. Pre computers, pretty much (or at least extensive use).
They thanked the cop, threw it out the window 2 min later, and drove on. Car was back at the rental anyway that afternoon. On the ferry they went, back to (wherever) and Liverpool can suck a lemon.
Good luck with that. That might have worked in the 80s, but the ticket will hit your CC today alongside BS charges from the rental company for providing the police your info (so, about 50 bucks for about 50 seconds' worth of work).
Worst for me was a construction zone speeding ticket on the Ohio 'pike outside Berea. 70something in a 60, if memory serves. I honestly couldn't tell I was going that fast, because a lot of people around me were going the same speed (and quite a few of them got pulled over). Needless to say, I familiarized myself with adaptive cruise control in a hurry (had never used cruise control before that in my life). It could have been over $400, but their DA - over the phone - knocked it down to $280 (and not having to waste a vacation day driving up there from Pittsburgh) because I was courteous to the cop.

About $600, speeding 40 in a 30, which would have been around $190 IIRC, but I didn't have insurance at the time (broke college kid.) Probably more expensive than that when you consider all the extra costs associated with it, I remember I had to pay extra fines to the state each year for like 3 years for that offense.
I will concur with a previous poster though, in the US, I think the most expensive ticket you can get would be for DUI, have a buddy of mine who got one a few years back, cost him $10-11k to get it resolved.
Not sure, have to call the great state of GA Monday to find out. Got stopped yesterday doing 85 in a 70. I honestly did not realize I was going that fast, but I saw the cop in the median and I really couldn't tell what he was going to do. I couldn't get over because of other traffic, so I sped up to get by him in case he needed to get out. I wasn't doing 85 before then, I know that since I had the cruise set at 75. Before this one, it was 20 some odd years ago. My oldest had learned how to get out of his car seat, and just at the right time he got out, cop comes by. 250 bucks, but he cut it down to 100 and told me to get a better car seat.
Oh, the rural GA....memories you bring..
I was pulled over by some little township deputy, doing 90 on 70. He kindly advised me, when inquired, to go to the ticket website for the amount. We parted in cordial laughs and pleasantness - to my surprise, and $640 fine when I checked it online 2 weeks later.
Fortunately, they restructured their tickets few days before due date and it dropped down to $420. I paid. One thing I do know better is to drive to another state to contest it in 1500 population town.

Damn, that's a heavy fine. They must really jack it up if you're above a certain speed.
I speed everytime I drive I-75 between Cincinnati and Toledo, and never any tickets. Radar detectors really work well.
I think we'd do great together on a road trip, man........ I like your driving style.
