This is nothing new, just part of doing business with the crooked Chinese, unfortunately. You want to sell in their market then you have to partner-up with a local Chinese company to do it. Many other automakers have similar arrangements.

When those Chinese companies try to start selling in the US I sure hope we return the favor with more restrictions than we've done with others. (Korea, for instance, who has major restrictions on importers as well but we allow Hyundai and Kia free reign to do whatever they want in the US. Makes no sense to me. )

While I used to want a Volvo years back, it all stopped once China took ownership.
