Do you live your life according to what people say on the internet? ive owned several Subarus and only one of them developed an oil leak at the head gasket,i got it fixed and drove another trouble free 200K.
So what car are you now thinking of buying?

First real job I had as a mechanic back in Deepest Darkest Appalachia, a now-extinct union shop. Mod cut.
This was a diesel shop, and there was a certain series of engine- pretty common at the time- that often had head gasket problems. If it had coolant in the oil, then head gasket replacement and all new bearings would be covered under warranty. Now often it's fairly obvious if there's coolant in the oil. If there's a lot, the oil will look like a milkshake. But if there's only a little... it's hard to tell without an oil analysis.

Mod cut.
