Found this article on the Renault Zoe interesting. While it's clearly not a big threat to the Tesla Model 3 at a technical level, Renault has been selling them since 2012, and has continued to improve the car and the chargers. They have in total sold more than 250,000 units. Sales are still increasing and last year they sold 45,745 Zoes in Europe.
Current models feature a 52kWh battery and either a 108hp or 135hp motor and ~ 242 mile range. The little hatchback starts at just $26K!
While this model is unlikely to reach the US, the success of this EV as part of the breed is noteworthy - it will drive expansion of charging infrastructure in Europe and sales of the breed are to some extent self-reinforcing: the less that EVs seem exotic, or weird or impractical to potential first-time buyers, as people get more and more familiar with them, the more easily that more of them will be sold.
There is A LOT of cars that are better than Tesla product and will NOT reach US. I had post on quite a few Chinese EVs, including one with lifetime warranty, that are stunning.
Pardon me my vulgar comparisons, but it's like masturbation. We can see them but can't have them.
So what's the point?

To me it's interesting whether or not I'll be buying a Zoe, because it's part of how the world is changing around us, and I like to know what's going on. For me, being informed is in itself worthwhile.
Sure. No doubt. Still, leaves bitter taste, aye, mate? Can see it, can't have it....
This is why I do not watch sports. I exercise.
It's a valid point of view Assuming that you're in the US too, I do think that a number of other offerings are coming our way in the next couple of years, so don't despair. I'll watch from the sidelines and consider each new vehicle with interest until the right one comes along for me. I could use a little more regular exercise, but get outside now and then - saw my first bald eagles in the lower 48 last weekend, and not one, but ten of them!
It's just a followup on his earlier comment that he finds it frustrating to observe these EVs (like the Zoe, only available in Europe) that he can't ever drive. So he makes an analogy to his preference for participating in sports, whereas he doesn't care for watching them. That was my take, anyways.
Renault Already has Nissan over here Renault owns 43.4 percent of Nissan. And Nissan has their Nissan Leaf why would Renault want to cut into Nissan sales. I’m sure Renault has some of their EV technology in the Nissan Leaf.
